Further to my last entry, I want to acknowledge the other side of the coin.  The ability to take time to rest and recharge after the long days of spring and summer where oftentimes we feel the urge and energy to be going hard from morning to night.

The short dark days of fall and winter provide me with the opportunity to take a break from the constant need to be productive.  To sink into the feeling of nurturing my body and mind with something a bit different – hot cups of tea while curled up on the couch reading a book, a phone call with a friend, taking up a hobby that can be done from the comfort of home, and, of course, while sitting close to the nearest source of heat 🙂

My intention is to embrace the permission provided by the change in seasons, to slow down and take advantage of the comfort of a different set of activities that also bring me joy.

I hope you, too, can embrace the changing of seasons and allow for your body and mind to enjoy some down time.
