Walk and talk therapy allows clients to create a deeper connection between body and mind through the rhythmic motion of walking, and research has shown that when we move our bodies we can decrease mental and physical stress.
Walking in nature is also calming, which can assist with managing different emotions that clients are experiencing day to day, but also within the counselling session when discussing emotionally difficult topics.
For some, sitting in an office space may cause discomfort and therefore getting outdoors and walking with a therapist can provide an alternative to in-person counselling.
